Angela Sephus Nunn Earns High School Education!

Spring 2013 

Advocacy Outreach is proud of former student, Angela Sephus Nunn, for recently earning a high school diploma.   A mother of five who had not completed her high school education, she came to Advocacy Outreach to study for her GED a few years ago. 

She was a motivated learner with career goals but with four children in high school at that time, she had to prioritize their needs for her parental support, and postponed, but did not abandon, her dream of a career in social work. 

Last fall she again resumed her efforts to complete a high school education and, through an online high school study course offered through Stanley High School in Portland, Oregon, she has graduated this spring with a 3.32 Grade Point Average.  And she is ACC-bound!  She intends to earn a social work degree and hopes to work for Adult and Child Protective Services; “Giving back,” she says, “is what it’s all about.”
